Saxophone & Vocals are what I am best known for, however I started my musical journey somewhere else…

I started playing an old hammond organ that my father was given from a friend of his when I was roughly 8 or 9 years old… It took 5 big men to manouver it into the house, so not a portable instrument!

I then picked up the trumpet in my last year of primary school. After playing the trumpet for a short while I was taken by my mother to watch my first open air gig in a country park. The band was a local 10 or 11 piece Northern Soul band playing your typical crowd pleasers. It was a lovely day and one of my fondest memories. 

The Trumpeter (my teacher at the time) stepped forward for his solo in the middle of whatever toe tapping song the band were playing and received a moderate round of applause for his efforts.

Enter… The SAX…. Next up, you guessed it, was the Sax solo… The moment I heard the Sax, my ears fell in love. The sax somehow sounded soft yet loud, roaring yet swooning and growling yet smooth… all at the same time.

The enthusiastic applause and cheers from the crowd  may have added to the appeal! According to my mother, just as the crowd were cheering and clapping, I tugged on her arm and said ‘Can I Play That One Please?!’.

So that is the moment I chose the Sax…. or did it choose me?! (Insert X-Files theme here).

From then on I feel in love with the saxophone, I would listen to the soulful sax players that recorded and giged for artists like; Luther Vandross, Whitney Huston, James Brown, Average White Band, Tower of Power & many more.

A musical mentor of mine once joked that “You’re playlists sound like a guy who’s just been dumped”. I just love that sweet soul music!

I went on to study at various institutes including the renowned LCM (Leeds Collage of Music – BA Jazz Degree).

I traveled and performed and lived in numerous countries around the world for the last ten years or so from Croatia to Cambodia, Egypt to Estonia, Miami to the Maldives as both a soloist, band member, band leader and luxury entertainment supplier.

Since settling back in the UK a few years ago I have found that my most favourite type of event that I perform at is Weddings…

I absolutely love the atmosphere! All of your nearest and dearest around you, everyone actively willing that day to be the best day of your life!

My personal mission is to simplify the Wedding Entertainment process and remove stress and confusion, allowing my clients to just enjoy their wedding because they are certain that I have everything in hand.

I love being part of my clients weddings, it’s such a pleasure to share in peoples happiness on their wedding day.
